How does SpineFind work?
SpineFind automatically detects textbooks on supported college bookstore websites and finds cheaper alternatives across multiple retailers like Amazon, AbeBooks, Chegg, and more.
Which bookstore websites are supported?
Currently, SpineFind works on:
- bkstr.com (Follett)
- bncollege.com (Barnes & Noble College)
We're working on adding more bookstores. Let us know which ones you'd like to see!
The extension isn't detecting my textbooks
Try these steps:
- Make sure you're on a supported bookstore website
- Navigate to a page that lists your required textbooks (usually the course materials page)
- Click the SpineFind icon in your browser toolbar to open the side panel
- If books still don't appear, click "Scan page" to manually trigger detection
How accurate are the prices?
We fetch real-time prices from retailers, but prices can change frequently. Always verify the final price on the retailer's website before purchasing.
Do you collect my personal data?
No. We only collect the ISBNs you search for and basic usage analytics. We don't track your browsing outside of supported bookstore sites. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do you make money?
SpineFind uses affiliate links. When you purchase through our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the service free.
Can I use SpineFind without the extension?
Yes! You can search for individual ISBNs on our homepage or compare multiple books using the batch search feature.
